Hi, I’m curious about the proof of accommodation rules, I’m hoping to visit México, flying into CDMX then moving around a bit, my rough plans are to spend 6 weeks,, a week in CDMX then travel up to SLP, then onto Guanajuato, Guadalajara and possibly back east to Puebla, before returning back to CDMX to fly home,(with a pre booked return ticket) but I’m not sure exactly how long i will stay in each particular town because if i really like it i would stay for longer, or if i don’t like it I’d move on, just backpacking and booking accommodation as I go, or will i need to have the full six weeks accommodation booked before entering México?, I’m a first time international traveller , so any advice will be very much appreciated, thanks

In reply to Marit. There's no issue if he's going to stay with you. He needs to show the Airbnb reservation. I assume it is reserved for 2? If not, he can just get a booking on Booking.com and choose properties that offer refund. Hope this helps!

Hi!
I currently live in Mexico for my university Exchange program and I have 3 months left here. For this time period I have rented an AirBnB. In May my boyfriend will come and visit me and will stay with me here in the house. Because of this, he does not really have proof of accommodation. What do you advise for him to go through immigration/customs without issues?

In reply to Tjaard. Hola! This is what I found on the web: South African Diplomatic Passport holders do not need a visa to enter Mexico. However, South African Official Passport holders are required to have a visa for Mexico, hence the above requirements apply. This type of visa is appropriate if: You are traveling to study in Mexico for more than 180 days. Which means that he needs a visa to go out of Mexico, otherwise, he will spend 2 days in Cancun Airport.

My dad is flying to mexico from south africa tonight. The end destination is Belize – but he needs to stay over in Mexico cancun for 2 days. He is South African and do not have a visa for Mexico. Will this be a problem in Mexico ?
