Just finished hike and swim today. I thought hike was at least moderate, not easy. Some really big steps, and sketchy bridges. Took us seniors about 1 hour out. Maybe less on return.

Beautiful views, nice water. Restaurant was open.

Update prices +50% though. Bus is still 100 pesos, but that’s also worth 20% more USD.

In reply to Renu Prinja. Hola Renu! As I stated in the summary above, you need to go to Boca de Tomatlan from downtown PV via taxi or Uber. The hike to Colomitos starts there. Let me know if you have any other questions!

I will spend a few months in Mexico, so I was delighted to read your guide. I would also like to go to Puerto Vallarta. I did not think Colomitos was such an exciting place. It’s good to know that the prices for renting a car are affordable. The hike seems terrific. I would like to go for it. It’s great that you also recommend where to eat in Boca before going on the trail.

I love the fact that dogs are welcome to the beach which is such an important issue for a dog owner and lover. I would love to plan out the trip on my own rather than going through an operator. The hike looks exciting. Love the fish fry. Another reason to enjoy.

I like how the beach is pet friendly. It’s also good to know there are different ways to take you to Colomitos although I found the guided tour is too expensive, and compare it to public bus that is only 50 cents! And your fried fish looks delicious!

The Colomitos beach ⛱️ is such a perfect holiday destination in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. The quaint town surrounded with rock boulders and delicious Mexican food to go with is very inviting.

I was surprised by the many secret beaches and hidden coves around Puerto Vallarta when I visited. I would love to have lunch at Boca de Tomatlan and the Colomitos hike looks beautiful. The sunset boat ride back to Boca de Tomatlan makes it a perfect day.

Colomitos Beach looks beautiful, a wonderful place to visit in Puerto Vallarta. It’s good to know one can reach it by taxi or with a tour guide, or even self-drive. The path through the cliff neighbourhoods sounds really appealing.

Great to know that it is pretty easy to visit Colomitos Beach without a guide. And that Uber is a great option! Although I must admit that the option to visit by water would appeal to me. Maybe boat there and hike back? The sights along the hike look great.

Thanks for the locals’ point of view. Boca de Tomatlan should be a fun stop for a pescado frito! But Colomitos Beach looks so cool to reach!
