Do you know if you can bring a cat? And can you have a topper on an SUV? Looking at this option to move from MZT to La Paz. Thank you!

Thanks for the very informative guide. The BajaFerries website now has the ability to book pets and service animals as part of the normal booking process.

I heard there were some issues with the ferries a month ago, one of the engines was out and the ferries didn’t run for a couple of weeks. Are they back up and running again?
Thanks

Hola Rhonda! You can modify the date of your travel for 180 pesos ($10 USD). As for cancelation, so far, I asked them and they said you can just keep modifying the date and not cancel it. I also added that info on this post. Hope this helps!

I am wondering about the cancellation policy. It would be for two of us and I definitely want a cabin with a window. So can you tell me what the cancellation policy is as I would like to book this trip in September and what suite choices would I be looking at booking?
Thank you in advance for answering my questions and thanks for the great write up.

Hi Jon, no it’s not. You can’t even access your car during the trip because they are locked at the bottom floor. They also ask you to pay for your fare and the car fee is separate. Everyone is asked to go up the cabins. Hope this helps!

@Hector o, There is an active resource available online called ADVRIDER.com – i suggest you visit the thread “is mexico safe” and ask about the safety of the proposed route you are considering. There are a few thousand motorcycle riders who either live or frequent Mexico and offer the best and safest roads to travel, depending upon the current latest news/climate etc.
